I need some help and fast. For those of you who have been there and done that or those who have heard of this happening help me find a solution....
Meredith has been potty trained for over a month now. When I say potty trained I don't mean training, I mean out of diapers and going on her own. In that month we had no accidents, zero, zilch, nada! We went to a Wiggles concert in Nola...no accidents, we went to Gulf Shores on a 4 hour drive...no accidents, we shopped at the outlets one day....no accidents. Her Poppa bought her a jeep for doing so well. Then Saturday we ran into friends who were amazed at her being potty trained, amazed that she got out of a pool to tell us she had to tinkle. Amazed that she hasn't worn pull-ups to bed at night and only had one accident!
Then Sunday morning rolled around and we had accident #1. Just some tinkle in her panties. Then accident #2 followed by #3. I was so upset, so confused. And it didn't seem to phase her at all. So last night I put her in a pull-up, which she normally refuses to wear. She put it on and woke up dry! So today we tinkled and pooped before gymnastics and went on as usual. Well at gymnastics or on the way home or walking to the car....I'm really not sure she had accident #4.
I came home and put her in time out, she cried and said she was sorry. I took her Woody and Jessie doll away and she pitched a major fit! So tell me is this normal???? What do I do???? I threatened to put diapers on her and she didn't care, I threatened to take away her snacks and she had a meltdown.....help me please!!!!!!
And Mr. Zack if you are reading this and the accident happened in the gym, I am so sorry. I was so not aware until we got home!

mandi - this happened to my sister in law with my neice. It was like all of a sudden Olivia regressed. It lasted a month and the only thing that seemed to work was telling Olivia that she was going to be the only one of us not going to Disney World since she kept having accidents. You just have to find what affects meredith most and either take it away or tell her she can't have it until she learns to go to the potty on time. It will get better - she's probably testing you right now.
This happened with my son a few times. But for us, taking things away and time out weren't a good thing, it associated bad feelings with potty training. What you can do is reinforce her good days and let her know that it's okay once in awhile to have an accident because they do happen. Just when you think...ahh...we're done with diapers, a little regression comes along.
Sorry ya'll are having trouble. I've got your pullups:) Marion does really well for a day or two and then could care less, so Meredith is still doing so well, I'm sure she will be back in the swing of things soon. Like you don't have anything else to do besides clean up Pee. Love it.
Sorry I don't have any advice, but wanted to send some encouragement your way. Sounds like she's just testing her power. She'll go back to being a "big girl" soon enough. Hang in there!
