Freaking Shit - What he says...

My sweet Noah LOVES to talk.  Actually that may be the understatement of the year.  Talking is as necessary to Noah as breathing.  If his eyes are open he is chatting you up.  Most days I feel like I should send him to preschool with ear plugs for his teacher.  Quiet days are they days when he is absent I am told.

Yes, the boy loves to talk.  He ask a million questions a day, I used to know the answers to his questions, but lately I have to say "I don't know" or "We can look that up when we get home."  He also describes everything he sees or has experienced.  He loves to re-tell me all about his day at school and all about what he did that day and what he learned.  I love that part.  And when we play, his imagination soars and he leaves out nothing, I hear every detail about what he is imagining.  He is so descriptive it's like he is painting a picture with his words and when he describes it, I can see it perfectly.  He is inquisitive, descriptive, detailed and chatty.

Most of my conversations with Noah are pretty entertaining.  He makes me laugh on a daily basis.  He also warms my heart on a daily basis as well.  Not a day goes by that he doesn't express sweetness towards me and his sisters.  And if you don't have a good reply for him, he will often provide you one to say.  He tends to do this alot, some might call him bossy.  He's thoughtful, caring, sensitive, a little bossy and very chatty.

Noah and I had a conversation last week about the birds and the bees that I had to actually stifle my laughs.  The conversation was a hoot, but one to be expected from my little guy.  I stifled my laughter though, because I didn't want him to think it was a funny topic, even though what he said was funny. He did not intend for it to be funny, he was quite serious.  But it was a hilarious one none the less, definitely one for the baby book.  So Noah remind me to tell you about that one, one day.  Especially since I don't know where you baby book is.  And sorry Internets, I won't share that one here, because I love my Noah and he does deserve some privacy, but I will share this gem, one about him using his favorite expression...."freaking shit."  This was an actual conversation that occured in the yukon last week while driving home from dinner.

(and finally a picture where my little man is not talking and you can tell he is barely keeping his mouth shut!)

"Noah, bud, if you talk like this all the time next year at your big school, you might get a few red lights or yellow lights."

"What's a red light?  I like red lights?  Like traffic lights?"

"No Noah, red and yellow lights are not good, they are when you are in trouble!"  scolded Meredith

""What?!?  Red lights ARE traffic lights, I love red lights!"

"No buddy, red and yellow lights mean no treasure box"

silent,thoughtful pause

"Red lights are freaking shit!"

"Well Josh I guess we should be more concerned about blue lights and phone calls home with that language!"

"Noah you can't say those things at school next  year." scolded Josh

"Nope Bud, you have to save those choice words for at home."

And in the words of Noah today was some freaking shit.  Both girls had surgery.  Both are doing great.  Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, but I'm so glad that freaking shit is over.  Hmmm, wonder where my Noah picked up that language.

Big Sisters are the best....Little sisters can be a pest

Margoth thinks her big sister is the best.  She does.  She LOVES her some Meredith.  When Meredith gets home from school she squeals in delight.  She also gives her great big bear hugs and lots of kisses.  Her brother sometimes gets jealous from all the attention his big sister gets, but Noah and Margot have that love/hate thing going on and are constantly battling for the attention

But there is just something about having a sister.  When Margot gets the opportunity to crawl freely upstairs she often high tails it to her sister's room.  She doesn't get to do this too often, because we have 17 stairs with no baby gate at the top. .....Note to self --- take care of that soon.  Once she is in her sister's room she is as happy as a pig in mud.  She likes to touch all her sister's toys, sometimes eating them, she likes to pull clothes off the shelves and things off the night stand.  She loves messing everything up as Meredith would say.....much to her dismay.

On this particular day, Meredith was in her room playing with her smurfs on her bed.  Margot hasn't mastered climbing up there yet, so that is Meredith's safe zone when the little monster is in her room.  Luckily, there were plenty of other things to entertain Miss Priss.. for instance her sister's underwear drawer.

Yes she grabbed all the panties and started putting them on her own head like a hat, she then drapped some tights over her shoulders like a shawl.  A very fancy shawl indeed.  She placed a few more panties around her arms like bracelets.  She's very stylish.

And I know you maybe thinking....well how the hell did that baby get those panties on her head by herself....NO WAY.  This is the child that can open a pouch of fruit snacks by herself.  I also confess we often put diapers and such on her head like hats....she likes it....and she's used to it.  As you can see she has multiple pairs on that head of hers.

Once she had satisfactorily gone through the drawers, she started rummaging through the cabinets.  All the while, my five year old is saying "Mom are watching her....Mom she going to break something!"  The adoring sister thing doesn't always go both ways.

The best thing about Meredith's room is there are lots of drawers and lots of new things to get into.

The calico critter house is her absolute favorite though, because those furry little animals taste so incredibly sweet.  And occasionally she will play with them too!

Yes I do believe in a 12-14 years I'll be hearing "Mom she in my stuff again!"  I know my poor mom heard it .....Over and Over.  It's a shame you have to get older to see your foolish ways.

She may not have a baby sister but....

that doesn't mean she can't play dress up in tu-tus!

I'm gonna get him before he is big enough to get me!
Oh yeah! I'm the big sister! Just wait....he'll have lots of dress up time....tea parties....barbie dolls....make-up and beaty parlor....he has no idea of what Mizit is capable of!
See what happens when Nanny comes to town!
Noah I wanted to make sure you knew who was holding you for these pictures with your purple tu-tu and big pink bow!
After everyone had left and gone home, Josh walked in to see Noah playing with his favorite doll!
No daddy...It's my doll!

Our nanny is in town....

And by Nanny I don't mean the kind that comes and takes care of your kids while cooking and cleaning your house. Nope...although I wish that one would come to town too.

No the Nanny I am referring to is my children's godmother and Nanny is the word we call her. Nanny Lei Lei to be exact. Although if my sister decides to do some cooking and cleaning along with child rearing while she is here, have at it! Yep, she is in town visiting and we are rather excited. Since she is a busy 3rd year law student who got an internship this summer for the DA, we are pretty lucky to get a quick visit in.

This morning we gave her another good dose of birth control (trust me we have gave her several doses in the past 2 years.) She decided to venture into the wild and crazy world known as Mommy and Me. In an hour and a half she got to see a bunch of sugar crazed kids dancing and singing along with crying, screaming, hitting, having meltdowns and lots of other kid friendly activities.

Yep she got to play a day in the life of a stay at home mom. Previously she used to ask me...."is this what you do all day?" Yep it is....laundry, dishes, breakfast, dishes, laundry, naps, tummy time, snacks, playtime, lunch, naps and then it starts all over again the next day. I imagine it is quite different than her life of lectures, test, papers, happy hours, sleeping in, late nights of partying, and nice relaxing glasses of wine.

But really my sister and I have always been different....while I was always lazy in school and couldn't wait to finish....she always made straight A's and is still there. While I was always worried about things, she never really let things bother her and to anyone who knows us well....it is no secret that we have not always gotten along. Although she has always been a damn good sister. Now I am not saying that she NEVER gets on my nerves or I hers, because we would both be lying. But overall we are friends, and becoming better friends as we grow up.

Right now she gets to play the role of the fun Aunt. The one who comes to town and brings presents and lets them bend the rules....and I get to be the mean old mom. But a day will come where I get to be the fun Aunt too and I can't wait!!!
